Echidna Production Machinery Pty Ltd (EPM) was set-up as a design house for large projects related to production machinery development, designing and building large and sophisticated systems for companies such as Holden, Qantas, Western Off Shore Mining and ZF.
Since the first degree of the company’s founder, Dr Fischer, is in Mining Engineering, it has been only natural for the company to become active in the Mining/Earthmoving sector.

Echidna leads the way with hydraulic excavator mounted diamond tipped rocksaws.

Our standard range contains rock saws for excavators in the range of 1 to 70 tonnes. All of these may be fitted with multiple blades for trenching or dimensional stone.

High-speed Diamond Rock saws
for Concrete Cutting
Echidna has developed a range of high-speed rock saws for cutting reinforced concrete and/or bitumen. They are a powerful and cost effective replacement for standalone concrete saws or walk behind or ride on road saws.

Stump Grinders

The use of an excavator for stump grinding has clear advantages over conventional stump grinders. The excavator mounted stump grinders utilise the power and reach of the excavator, to make the grinding of stumps fast and efficient.

Only high-power – high-speed motors such as those used in Echidna high-speed diamond saws can provide the tip speed required for efficient stump grinding.

The unique spindle bearing assembly design for all our excavator hydraulic rock saws provides for extremely easy blade replacement and this together with their very high rotational speed makes them directly suitable for the cutting of wood or concrete or bitumen cutting for road and other construction works. It is just a matter of a simple replacement of the cutting blade which takes, literally, minutes.
